| 内容記述 | There are some areas that need to be modified in English Education in Japan. One of those areas is assessment.The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology （MEXT） revised the Courses of Study for elementary and secondary schools for the first time in almost ten years. Along with its revision, MEXT hopes to improve assessment in the English classroom by integrating teaching and assessment. This paper presents a way of integrating teaching and assessment, taking into consideration English lessons of the second year of junior high school. First, the paper discusses the background of the revisions of the Courses of Study and the importance of CAN-DO based goal setting. In addition, it discusses the relationship between teaching and assessment and four significant elements of appropriate assessment. Finally, the paper exemplifies how to set a unit goal and decide on an appropriate performance test based on the four elements above by drawing up performance models and a rubric consisting of criteria which have been apparent through making performance models. | |||||||||||
