| 内容記述 | This paper examines how temporal relations are represented in Japanese texts and their corresponding Russian translations. When an entire text describes past events, tense alone cannot explicitly indicate the temporal order of events. However, the order of events can be represented through lexical composite expressions and specific lexical items. Additionally, when the order of multiple events is not explicitly stated, it is understood through inference from context. In Russian sentences, as translations, the explicit marking of the order of events generally corresponds to that of the Japanese source text. If the order of events is not explicitly indicated in the original text, it remains implicit in the translation, and the same process of inference applies to its interpretation.Temporal representation through lexical items reflects differences in the lexical systems of the two languages. | |||||||
