That said, Japanese ardently want\nto own their own homes and to continue living in their own homes after retiring. A reverse mortgage is a\nmechanism that enables the effective use of self-owned real estate, and the need for reverse mortgages will\nbecome more evident. However, the fact is that awareness of reverse mortgages is still limited. The current\nstudy identified the current state of and issues with aspects of the demand for reverse mortgages, and it\nconducted a survey to determine whether reverse mortgages can be used as a measure to fund retirement and\nhow financial literacy will be affected.
